When it comes to brand partners, Cultivate hits the jackpot. Not only do we partner with brands that produce quality products, but we also partner with brands that make giving back a cornerstone of their organization. Whether it’s through sustainability practices, community grants, or charitable donations, Cultivate is proud to partner with companies that value giving back as much as we do. We’re highlighting a few of our brand partners and the ways they aim to make a difference.

OluKai is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) located in the State of Hawai‘i. The Foundation partners with other progressive organizations committed to the preservation of Hawaiian culture and honor those who foster cultural heritage and the Aloha spirit of Hawai‘i.

Bose employees bring their innovative spirit to advance education initiatives, such as mentoring the next generation of engineers. Bose also supports sustainability to keep spent rechargeable batteries out of our nation’s solid waste stream by participating in the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation “Call2Recycle” program.

Kendra Scott believes in the power of giving back. The brands’ annual givebacks include donating over $5 million to non-profit organizations, $9.1 million in in-kind donations, over 2,100 employee volunteer hours, and providing support to more than 8,000 philanthropic partnerships. It also gives back through local “Kendra Cares” initiatives with all proceeds going to support community causes and organizations.

Hammitt is committed to supporting programs and nonprofit organizations that focus on three areas: education, empowerment, and mentorship. Most recently, the brand teamed up with “The Starlight Foundation” to design a bag that supports Starlight’s mission to provide upgraded gowns to hospitalized children.

Smartwool partners with organizations like “ZQ Merino” to ensure the sheep are treated humanely, the growers are treated fairly and work to minimize farming impacts on the environment. They use recycled wool fiber in some of their fleeces to further reduce their impact without losing the performance benefits of wool.

Vuori’s “Recycled Series” supports its mission to create more sustainable clothing by repurposing 25 plastic bottles to create a comfortable and functional pair of shorts. They also use upcycled coconut husks to create a fabric that offers moisture-wicking, anti-bacterial, and anti-odor performance qualities.

Timbuk2 supports sustainability in more ways than one. It encourages people to donate their used bags to someone in need, instead of tossing them out through their giveback program, “Break Up With Your Bag.” Over the years, more than 15,000 bags have been donated. Additionally, Timbuk2 offers lifetime warranties, so if your bag needs a quick fix, their team in San Francisco will repair it free of charge.

SMITH donates $1 for every pair of sunglasses sold to “First Descents,” a non-profit organization that offers young adult cancer fighters and survivors an outdoor adventure experience.
